Global Perspectives is
a remote sensing and world issues site. Remotely-sensed images
and other geospatial information can reveal multiple aspects of
an event such as war, natural disaster, or economic change. This
realization that satellite images and other geospatial
information can illustrate a great deal of interrelated
information has brought to education a trend toward
interdisciplinary curricula for the study of current events.
Therefore, Global Perspectives features interdisciplinary
modules, which include remotely-sensed imagery to convey
concepts that involve global- and regional-scale patterns.
Students also use Problem-Based Learning to conduct real-world
investigations to think about solutions to various problems
around the world.
