Navigation Hints
This online environment will take a bit
more exploring than does a face-to-face classroom the first time you walk into it. Use the home
page as a starting point. Go "out" and explore one of the sections. Then go to the
navigation bar along the left side of the page and link to another page, or go
"back" to the
home page and find a new section to explore.
As you browse through all the nooks
and crannies, practice the scan and study strategy. Scan each page as you arrive, then
study one or two features. Use the "out and back" strategy again to explore
pages from there.
Explore the spaces that change daily
(Course Space) and weekly (Teacher as Problem Solver Space, Teacher as Model
Builder Space, Teacher
as Designer Space) so you will be aware of the exchanges taking place among the
participants. When you join in threaded discussions, be careful to add a subject line to
make a connection with another thinker. Adding a subject line is analogous to making eye
contact, then commenting in reply to someone in real life.
