Testing the Insulation Capabilities of Containers

Think about the problems unique to maintaining life support in a space environment. What does the crew need to be protected from? What problems might be associated with living in a very small space. An important characteristic of the space environment is extreme temperatures. Temperatures soar when you're exposed to solar rays and plunge when not. The space station must maintain an even temperature or the astronauts will freeze or fry.

Preventing Leaks in Space

Perhaps the most important environmental need of humans is air. To maintain the correct composition and quantity of gases in the habitat's atmosphere is a major challenge in space. The habitat must be leakproof.
