Challenger Center Wins Service Award For the ninth consecutive year, the Challenger Learning Center housed at the Center for Educational Technologies® (CLC) was honored for having served the most children of the 51 centers worldwide. During the 2003-2004 school year the center conducted 375 on-site simulated missions, which was the most of any Challenger Center in the network. During the Challenger Centers' annual conference in late August, Jackie Shia, assistant director of the Wheeling Jesuit University CLC, accepted the award. "This is such an honor for the CLC to once again
be recognized for educating so many young people in Wheeling and across
the Tri-State region. We are excited that we have reached nearly 12,000
students in the past year and that we have educated them about space
science as well as teaching them life skills such as communication,
following directions, and teamwork," Shia said. |
