Virtual Design Center Names Editorial Board Chair

Dr. Dan Hickey of the University of Georgia has been named chairman of the editorial board of the NASA-sponsored Classroom of the Future’s Virtual Design Center.

Dr. Steven McGee, chief research and development officer at the Classroom of the Future™, said Hickey is an internationally renowned design-based researcher whose work focuses on the evaluation and assessment of the design of curricular materials. Hickey will coordinate and run the editorial board meetings of the Virtual Design Center and will promote the center throughout the design research community, McGee added.

The Virtual Design Center uses NASA resources to ensure that new designs for classroom investigations are based on good science and solid educational design theory. The editorial board manages the editorial quality of the Virtual Design Center, reviews proposed research and design principle themes, and monitors the center’s online workshop.
