Rubrics - Secondary School Educators
Rubrics are the rage, and for good reason. Focusing the learner's attention on essential elements of a task, a well-written rubric is an excellent instructional and evaluation tool.

Negotiable Contracting
What would happen if students were invited to help decide how their work should be evaluated? Would they exploit the opportunity, designing standards so ridiculously low as to guarantee effortless good grades?

Rubrics
Rubrics are sets of criteria or scoring guides that describe levels of performance or understanding. They provide students with expectations about what will be assessed, standards that need to be met, and information about where students are in relation to where they need to be.
